Okay. Tell me how in Homer’s jelly doughnut stratosphere this is possible…. Delphine wakes up, spends hours cruising through social media and making new book buddies in God knows what country, island, box. She comments, plans posts, thinks about posts, and reads. And yet here Delphine is to tell y’all “I’M BEHIND!” Time has not been on my side lately and if I have not responded to some fellow babblers comments (as if any of you care, I know you just want me to pay attention to your blog and click that blue glowing “follow” icon) I deeply and from the bottom of my swiss cheesy little heart apologize!
So here I am, after a pillow scream, chips ahoy cookie binge, and cat cuddle session later to provide you with Sunshine Blogger Award take 2! I love the book blogging community for all this fun and meaningless opportunities to learn more about the pretty (or perhaps not so pretty) little faces behind every blogging account. One of my best friends that I’ve managed to make in the short time I’ve been blogging, Noriko at diaryofabookfiend has nominated me for this award. She has been a pleasure to get to know and her posts and comments (she’s one hell of an active blogger *phew* – lemme catch my breath here!) are so charming and a delight to read every time. Wait… Could it be that you, Noriko, are the reason I’ve fallen behind?!?! Yes, her posts are that good kiddos so if you think you know what an amazing book review is stick your head in a toilet and get off your high horse, visit her blog, and only then are you allowed to return for a babble with Señorita Delphine… Continue reading “The Sunshine Blogger Award | 2”→
Howdie hoe day! It’s Thursday, Friday Eve, but who cares huh? Having been off of school for a little over a month now, every day seems to peacefully blur into yet another sunny, peaceful day in rowdy and smog-infested Cal-i-forn-i-a. Being free of a number of obligations, I have lots more time to blog and read – maybe even I can finally catch up on my endless TBR… LOL PSYCHE – that thang don’t stop stackin’, no thanks to all the groovy recommendations and reviews y’all don’t stop posting!I’m technically supposed to be studying for the GRE (Graduate Record Examination), which is one of the most annoying and brutal tortures that the American system could ever dare to slam on us, innocent, twenty-something-year-olds. However, as demonstrated, I have an attention as expansive as our fellow blue fishy, Dory and studying just ain’t my specialty.
I’ve been nominated by one of my newest book buddies, Noriko at Diary of a Bookfiend for The Black Cat Blue Sea Award. Please visit her blog for some of the best reviews of published novels as well as upcoming releases. Dearest Noriko, if you’re reading this rambling (I sure hope you are) just know that your blog has become of of my greatest inspiration! No joke kiddos – like, for those of you wanting to take part in the hype circulating one of the newest YA novels, When Dimple Met Rishi, you’re just gonna have to check out what she’s gotta say about it here.
Now for the award… Continue reading “The Black Cat Blue Sea Award”→
Happy Tuesday! No wait, whahhhhh? You tellin me the lovely gals behind The Broke and the Bookish have gone on a 7 WEEK HIATUS? Whahh ezzzz deees bologna I reeeed???? Quoi?… Ok Delphine, get over yourself, no need to exaggerate the accent here, you’re American, remember?
Just like most of my fellow book bloggers, I have grown to enjoy Tuesdays for the Top Ten Tuesday meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Now that they’re on vacation, however, I guess it’s that time to do archive-searching and along with all the rest of y’all, re-create new Top Ten Tuesday discussions, or repeat those which have done before.
“She wept for her hardheadedness, and for a world that couldn’t just let her be both, a woman in love and a woman with a career, without flares of guilt and self-doubt seeping in and wreaking havoc.”
Dear fellow Babblers,
I’ve always been hesitant going into YA just because my experience with the genre is mixed with cliché and unoriginal premises. 2017 has definitely bee so far a year of new reads and explorations. Following my extreme satisfaction reading the contemporary poet, Lang Leav’s first novel, Sad Girls (full review here), I found myself wanting more of the cutting edge nonsense and thrilling “sweep the chick off her feet and then drop her midair” romance that contemporary literature often lacks or deeply tries to go against. When Dimple Met Rishi is not something I would typically feel drawn to in a bookstore, despite to cute and quirky cover. I went out and bought and read the novel just because I noticed it to be one of the most popular YA novels currently trending. Upon finishing the novel I was at the same time charmed and rather indifferent… Continue reading “Review: When Dimple Met Rishi | Cliché But That’s Okay!”→
Wake Up. Sound the alarm. Put your overalls on. Don’t forget Señor Bus Pass and Señorita House Keys. And lezzz-gooowww…. It’s Monday y’all! Get your cozy little tushy outta bed and out into friendly and dusty ‘ole reality!
Oh yeah – don’t forget to air me a big smoochie kiss down below ! Wait… whah?! ?!
Das Right – Señorita Babbler – or shall we call her lazy bikini bottoms – has used her America, the Beautiful as an excuse to call off work an cuddle up with her furry little man, Haruki and dive in on her July TBR.
So while you, my dearest fellow book-a-freaks are ringing up customers at the grocery store, pretending to listen to your smelly breath calculus professor train you on the derivatives of the evil tangent line – whatever is keeping you from gravitating from reality into the fiction world – I am here with, no, not more Murakami, at least not yet – on the TBR though (for my full July TBR visit my last post here)! I’ve been so excited about my reading plan for the month that choosing where to start proved to be the hardest part. So what more appropriate an occasion to utilize the good ‘ole ‘Eenie-meenie-minie-mow’? Continue reading “Babble To Señorita Babbler About Whatcha Reading On This Monday”→
Now listen here. I command for you to wish this gal a big ‘ole “Congratulations”. But not to me – no, no, no – I ain’t that narcissistic – c’mon guys! The congrats goes to my fellow babblers; all y’all who have endured my endless bookish nonsense (if we dare call books printed pages of ‘nonsense’) for the past month. Yes, my blog has turned one month today.
I initially had set out to share with the book community here on wordpress as well as on Goodreads my thoughts on books by providing you guys with reviews and ramblings on shizz pertaining to books from my fears recently graduating from UCLA as a literature major to my meanderings on identity within the blogosphere and we must not forget the actual book reviews ’cause what’s a book blog that does not review books (another discussion in itself – to be posted soon – stay tuned kiddos!) ?
So here we are now, precisely thirty days later: babbler who babbles about books and has a fear of a hopeless future hidden amongst piles and piles of written stories. Is there no more to this psychotic existent ? Preach Delphine! Preach!
We are already halfway through the year, and while I’m sure all of us bibliophiles are fretting over our monthly wrap-ups and spending the next 48 hours choosing the next 20 books (I’ll be lucky if I can shut my mouth long enough to get through at least 10!), I decided as a celebratory post not for me, but for any of you that care who the voice behind the babbling actually is (yes, I do existent, a complete, whole person with mind and body – Descartes may disagree with that statement, but omg Delphine: please shut up and get to the tag part!), I would tag myself in May @ Forever and Everly’s and Vrinda@abookishhuman ‘Get to know me’ Tag.
