I’m really going to France. I can’t believe it’s finally happening. You see, I’ve been so close to going to France so many times in the past and then in the very last second something always, and I literally mean always happens that prevents me from going. But this time around I really feel it all happening and coming together. I was accepted into the TAPIF program all the way back in April but it wasn’t until like last week that I decided to go. I basically was holding onto this psychotic idea that the guy that I was having a fling with would finally *like like* me, but turns out, I kinda got screwed over. Long story short I cried and felt sorry for myself for two days and finally said ohh no you don’t doll face. I would have halted my dreams for you. But, well, as y’all can probably guess, my hopes were a bit shattered. I liked him since high school, so it hurts quite a bit but at this point there really is nothing more I can do but leave. So just like that I decided to put that chapter of my naive young adult life behind me and make myself the priority. I’m not reading as much as I have been the last couple of days when I was in *broken heart* mode given that I’m so excited to go to France so all I can really do all day is daydream. So I thought I would use this opportunity to catch up on nominations. Continue reading “The Miranda Sings Award”→
If you’ve been following my drab old life of a 22-year-old going on 42 then you’ll know that these past few weeks have been a bit bumpy, uneventful and all together yicky icky. I was having personal problems along with the good ‘ole unemployed-college-graduate problems. Well if you have come here for more wishy washy “Delphine’s life sucks” going ons I’m here to tell ya to stick your head in a toilet and do a swishy cause yo girl going to France for a year. Yup yup yup. So if any of y’all living in France be sure to hand over them digits so i can give you a ring and we can bond over some excellent chorizos and churros. No wait, that was my Mexican side coming out. I swear, I better get my sh** straight before I get over there or I’m pretty sure I’ll be deported. But in all seriousness I’m going to be an English teacher in Dijon, the Burgundy region for an entire year beginning in just a couple of weeks. I’ve always wanted to live in a small town on the countryside which is why I didn’t choose Paris or somewhere more city-like. I wanted Provence, but unfortunately was not an option *boo hoo,* whatevs’ I’ll be taking the high speed train there all the time (don’t let my dad know that *shhhh*). I’m super excited I just can’t hide it. I’ll have to be teaching hormonally awkward high school students which is very unfortunate for me but I’m hoping with enough sugary goodies I can bribe the kiddos to like me.
Anyway, onto the actual post, enough of me even though I know all y’all care to know more more more about my upcoming adventure. I was tagged by my blogging best friend for life, Alex at coffeeloving bookoholic for the Awesome Blogger Award. Yes my dear honey bunches of oats, it was a lonnggggg time ago since this tag but as you know, I’m quite late in just about everything given the ants in my pants that have been invading my brain as of late. Thank you very much dearest Alex for this tag because as we all know, I’m one awesome teeny weeny turkey (lol-idk). Continue reading “The Awesome Blogger Award”→
Allow me to introduce y’all to chica drama bubble lord (moi). These past few days have been pretty rough as I’ve been in a total rut. And what is this pile of douche I am laying you ask? WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE!?!?!?! Yup. That’s it. No big deal right? I mean, unless I want to live under a metro bus and become a gold digger it’s kind of like a cookie no cookie (I want cookies, can you tell?) situation! Up to this point in my life I’ve always know exactly where I was headed and what my future was lookin like. Now? You would think that having graduated from one of the top universities in the world I’d be a little more “with it.” Well for all those suckers out there that believe a good education will “get you anywhere” and “open doors” you need a seriously slap across the face along with a full and hearty reality check. I am the absolute proof that you can have a top education, float on the tippy top of your student loan debt, and still be a dip watt. Dip watt? Yes, I did just invent that expression and I’m currently in the process of petitioning to have it added as a noun to the Merriam Webster dictionary.
So now that y’all know that you are reading the babbles of a hopeless turd this turd who goes by the name of Delphine will EVILY laugh (MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHA) in your face. And why? Because even dim watts can be special! (And I mean that in the most non insulting way possible). This is the second time yo girl has been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award. I’m not exactly sure what makes me versatile, but can we count “not being able to shut my big fat pie hole?” (I mean, they call me The Babbler for a reason).
Many thanks to my nominator, CEBat M&C Crazy Book Blog. If we talkin’ versatile in the most literal sense of the word then this blogger is the absolute epitome of what a versatile blogger truly is. With reviews (books, what other kinds of reviews are there anyway?), memes, tags, bookish and not-so-bookish discussions CEB’s posts are always a delight to read and never to fail to life me from my down-in-the-dumps mood which has been the case a tad bit to often as of late (unemployed + shopaholic = hate mail + parent lectures x ramen noodle diet ^ 89339489384938). Enough of the chatter. Lets get to to the nomination (AKA moreeeee chatter!) Continue reading “The Versatile Blogger Award | 2”→
We’re more than halfway through August. Summer is almost over and we ask ourselves: ALREADY? Yup, it’s a bummer. Most of my time has been spent reading and interning so I’m really not sure what the future holds for me at this point. I’ll still be lovey dovey with y’all here, of course. But I am indeed in quite the rut if I do say so myself. Maybe it’s time to just drop everything and put up a lemonade stand – perhaps that’ll get the inspiration rollin’ out.
Well enough of Señorita Delphine’s drab humor. Off to today’s nomination post. Abrazos and besitos go to the lovely duo Ashley & Sabrina over at 5171 Miles Book Blog for nominating me for One Lovely Blogger Award. These gals are adorbs and their blog is altogether quirky, fun, and always insightful. I insist that you follow them if you care any bit about my personal opinion (my opinion matters! Power to the people! – lol idk). Continue reading “One Lovely Blogger Award”→
Well hey there my lovelies. What’s craka ‘lackin in your hood. Wanna hear about mine? You say no? Then why you reading this you dolt? Jkjk. But seriously, what gives ? Not much is happening here in Los Angeles other than the news I’ve just received over at Twitter. Ready for this? The hottie tottie author of They Both Die at the End, Adam Silvera, is going to be on tour at The Grove on September 8th. I am so stoked to see this man in person – oh yeah, buy the book too *wink * wink * Give me them digits Adam).
Any-whooz-it I’m here as nominee of the Blogger Recognition Award. My nominator: Laura Beth at Hot Shot Headlines. I just met her a couple weeks here on wordpress and I’m sure glad that I did as she is not only an amazing writer and blogger, but such a delight to babble with. On her blog you can find a number of book reviews, chats, as well as writing updates – I swear this gal is haulin’ mules on her blog – I’m so jealous, is that obvious yet? If you haven’t yet followed her then allow me to wag the naughty finger at you as you are missing out on some very insightful and fun and beautifully written posts. I’m about to provide y’all with an inside peak into my aesthetically dysfunctional mind. Beautiful Bella over at Bella Blogs Because Books has nominated this chica for the Blogger Aesthetic Award. Now if we are talkin’ pretty and altogether amazing when we define aesthetic then I highly recommend (like, guys you don’t have a choice here) you visit her blog. Her creative blog theme is both charming and always a pleasure to visit. On her directory page you’ll find a variety of new releases and reviews from the Young Adult genre, which, I don’t know about you, is one of the funnest genres to read reviews of. Anyway there is no one or few words to describe my so called “aesthetic” but I will nonetheless give this thingy a go just cause it seems fun and gives me an excuse to feel productive as I lay scrunched up in bed for five ours scrolling through Tumblr and Pinterest. I return for another round of cynical questionnaires, also know as Sunshine Blogger part 3 brought to you by our very own James @thisismytruthnow. Thank you James for this nomination and for all y’all who haven’t yet clicked on his page I shake my tail feathers at you in disgust – how dare you even read this very line without first visiting James blog! You call yourself a bibliophile? A book reviewer? A book blogger? Again, I look down on you with utter contempt. You are not a book anything until you have visited this blog for some of the best book recommendations, memes, tags, awards, and even some wonderfully creative stories written by the blogger himself! Okay. Tell me how in Homer’s jelly doughnut stratosphere this is possible…. Delphine wakes up, spends hours cruising through social media and making new book buddies in God knows what country, island, box. She comments, plans posts, thinks about posts, and reads. And yet here Delphine is to tell y’all “I’M BEHIND!” Time has not been on my side lately and if I have not responded to some fellow babblers comments (as if any of you care, I know you just want me to pay attention to your blog and click that blue glowing “follow” icon) I deeply and from the bottom of my swiss cheesy little heart apologize!
So here I am, after a pillow scream, chips ahoy cookie binge, and cat cuddle session later to provide you with Sunshine Blogger Award take 2! I love the book blogging community for all this fun and meaningless opportunities to learn more about the pretty (or perhaps not so pretty) little faces behind every blogging account. One of my best friends that I’ve managed to make in the short time I’ve been blogging, Noriko at diaryofabookfiend has nominated me for this award. She has been a pleasure to get to know and her posts and comments (she’s one hell of an active blogger *phew* – lemme catch my breath here!) are so charming and a delight to read every time. Wait… Could it be that you, Noriko, are the reason I’ve fallen behind?!?! Yes, her posts are that good kiddos so if you think you know what an amazing book review is stick your head in a toilet and get off your high horse, visit her blog, and only then are you allowed to return for a babble with Señorita Delphine… Continue reading “The Sunshine Blogger Award | 2”→
